We Solve Strategic Problems
Is your business growing? scalable? sustainable? Is shareholder value at its peak? Do you have the resources you need to execute (cash, people, partners, technology, product lines)?
If not, we can fix the problem by leading you through one or more strategic maneuvers, which may include developing and executing better corporate strategy, changing the business model, raising capital, merging/acquiring/selling, launching a new venture, repositioning, changing the corporate message, developing strategic relationships, and even recovering from a major crisis. We provide expert advice and field leadership on complex strategic maneuvers. If it’s strategic, we can help you figure out what to do and lead the execution effort to get it done. Why Seek Outside Help? (And Why Us?)
Complex strategic maneuvers are difficult. Your in-house executives are focused on running the day-to-day business and most of them don't have experience or expertise in things like changing a business model, raising money, acquiring a competitor, starting-up or selling-off a division, or "reinventing" a company. It's just not what they do every day. We've been doing it every day for decades, and we can help you figure out the right strategic plan and lead its execution. We can also help you avoid the mission-critical pitfalls that typically confound those who try to do it themselves.
You'll notice that we refer to what we do as "complex" strategic maneuvers, and for good reason. They are complex, and difficult, and frustrating, and risky; which is part of the reason why our clients typically look back on their WatsonStrategic engagement as an "investment" rather than an "expense"; because we always make them (or save them) more than we cost them. The most impressive endorsement we get from our clients is that we frequently end up serving on their boards for years after our initial engagement.
WatsonStrategic has a lot to offer: decades of CEO experience (including startups and turnarounds); extensive experience in “out-of-the-box” strategic thinking; the ability to do research and approach targets with third party anonymity; a network of associates who are experts in their fields; a network of contacts across a wide range of industry sectors; years of experience working together on various projects; and a seasoned perspective that comes from years of developing and executing complex strategic maneuvers, both in our own companies and on behalf of our clients.
